i believe bird seeds need put in hot water for 15-20 mins if it goes in untreated it can cause problems for the fish...... dog biscuits are a great bait too for free lineing.....

Re: a change of bait for next year

There is all sorts you can buy from pet stored but they vary around the contry. Usually they are not quite as good quality which is why they are in pet shops.
Particle will need to be soaked for 24 hours and then boiled for 20 mins and left to cool in the water(a burco is good for this). i would add some salt to it and mabee a few liguids like hemp and salmon oil for a slick if you are carp fishing i also like addin things like sweetcorn pellet and tigetnuts with a little tigernut syrup from mainline.

Hi Chris I have been using Vitalin now for about three months as a ground bait and method with great success, it can be used on it's own or put in your own addatives and colours as required. You can soak over night or on the bankside, it comes in 15 kilo bags and I paid £12. Works out very cheap mate.
