On waters where particles aren't allowed...

Hi guys, I'm quite new to carp fishing (only a few months now) and brand new to this forum, so be gentle and sorry if this is a stupid question.
My fishing up to now has just been a hair rigged boilie and a bag of chopped boilies / halibut pellets. maybe catapulting a few boilies out in the general direction of where I cast.
I've recently been a 48 hour carp fishing tutorial with a member of this forum and he introduced me to the ways of using a marker float and spodding!
Wow, was I impressed.
So I've come back..all excited and gone and blown some money on a spod and marker rod and some big pit reels.
I've found a nice looking venue not too far from home and was all set to book a session when I've noticed that one of their rules is:
"Mass baiting of particles is banned"
I'm just wondering what would be everyone's general approach to a water of this nature if I can't spod (which I'm assuming is what this rule is saying)

Look forward to hearing your replies

Paul

Hi mate
Firstly find a nice spot with the marker rod and cast you leads to the marker float, mark your line and clip up your reel line like we did. Then get some large PVA bags of pellets, PVA freindly hemp and crushed boiles. The bags should be about the size of a tangerine.
Take off the hook length off your lead system and add a large size 2 hook to the speed link. Simply gaff the PVA bags to the large hook and cast out to the clip. Leave the rig to hit the bottom and then wait 2 mins and reel in repeat the process untill all the PVA bags are gone. No one can see you are baiting up becuase there is no spod but those PVA bags are doing the business for you on the bottom and everyone on the lake just thinks you are trying to hit your spot. Sneaky spodding mate.

ahhh, now we're talking, thanks as always for the awesome explanation!!
More than 1 way to skin a cat eh?
Bought the Wychwood big pit reels you sort of recommended, but gone for the whychwood Spod and Marker rods to match. Same price as the chub outcasts, lovely looking rods too (not that makes a difference to my casting, but if you're spending money it's got to look nice eh? )
Right, of to bed to dream of my first 20lber

Re: On waters where particles aren't allowed...

Interesting post Gemo.

I use exactly that method just to put bait out, cos over Toad hall as soon as the more succesful anglers put a marker out people are taking the line from the bank and jotting down the positions, and if its taken me months to locate a spot im not too keen on sharing it with lazy buggers.
The way you described my marker is out for a mininal time and its harder to get a fix in open water without a marker for the lazy buggers to find.
Paul welcome, i too have the Wychwood 75 big pits, have landed cats to 7olbs and carp to 52lbs on them with no trouble, and i use a wychwood 65 for my marker reel, great value reels imo .

ah, don't blame you to be honest, not if it takes you that long to find a hot spot. I wouldn't want to share it straight away either.
I haven't got the Wychwood big pits for my main reels though. I boght 2 of the 65's yesterday for my spod and marker rods (which i also bought), but I've got some Shimano 8000 GTE's (bought them second hand as I was starting out) for my main reels.
It'll all get supe'd up at some point
Thanks for the reply, nice to get someone else's opinion as well as Gemo's (no offence bloke! ha)

Hi Paul Good job on the reels mate they are great value shame about the rods I think Chub are better but we can all be perfect LOL Regardsing you comments about other peoples veiw I am happy for everyone to join in the more the merrier. I did notice however that no one else took time to digitise their answers in a Ladybird book 3 styleee "Peter, John & patch the dog baits up a particle banned water without spodding" LOL.
