Re: Winter Rig?
I will be using two rigs a simple running rig made up from a Korda safezone leader with a buffer bead over the swivel. a 3oz inline lead with the internal sleeve removed and a shocker bead on the first tungsten bulge on the leader. Simple but very sensative and deadly effective. Hooks well Korda Wide gapes or Longshank X's dependant on the swim and bait. Hooklength Suffix Kamizan.
The other rig would be a Solar bag system again in conjuntion with a distance in line lead with a leadcore leader fisihing PVA bags of maggots. the rig would be a helicoptor style with a Rob Malin Mag aligner. All we need now is some nice weather and to locate the hungry carp. Tight Lines all Ian Gemson Fishing Coaching - Smart Carping - Angling tuition tailored to all ages & abilities |

Re: Winter Rig?
Gemo... get off that rig mate... I was using it the weekend on a very hard water and I did friday until sunday and got 1 run... because of that stupid fairbrass rig the fish picked up the bait swam off felt the resistance of the bead and shook the rig right out of his mouth.
Give this set-up ago ![]() Keep it simple Tiger nut is deadly in the winter

Re: Winter Rig?
Thanks Crafty for the heads up on your weekends fishing with the "Danny Fairbrass rig" I am sorry to hear you dropped a fish. Rig mechanics are such that there are many reasons for then to fail including some very very crafy carp.
I cant dismiss this rig that done me personnaly so well through one failure though but I will take a note of what you are saying. Off to Sandhurt this wekend for the Bubble do social I hope to bag one but with the amount of pressure on the lake I am not holding my hopes to high. Tight Lines mate |

Re: Winter Rig?
Tight lines Gemo mate, hope you pull a nice lump out. Sandhurst is a lake with real character in my opinion and would love to fish it if i can drag myself up that way sometime in the new year

Re: Winter Rig?
I wish I could take his job... That rig cost me a fish which took me 5 days to get a run from (been there previously for a weekend and blanked)
Tight lines mate... There's some real lumps in there.. let's hope one of the monsters has ur smiley face behind it lol =]
