Re: Long Awaited Promise....
Unfortinatley when it comes to reels i can not offer shimms. I would love to however my wholesaler does not stock them at present. However when i visit him next i will see if he can get them tho... Reels he suppliers are Ultracast mainly. and ur looking £29.99 a reel not a great reel, but they do the job for big carp however would they be up for yout cat adventures i am unsure.
UltracaSt 1090 Big Pit Freerunner 10 stainless bearings 1 Way Clutch 4.1:1 Gear Ratio Big Pit capacity spool 340 yards at 14lb One button handle release Spare graphit Spool However i am still in talks with serveral other agents who i am waiting (to rip off basically) see what best deals they can offer. Some of which offer fox and korda products which i feel would be a good touch. It will hopfully come togther in time.. I do however have some mega deals on a 4 way alarm system from NXT Generation GTI 500 4 Way Alarm and Sounder RRP £119.99 my price 89.99 to CF members. Can also get beds chairs bivies (shakespear) Chairs Baits ETC.... you name it and i will try my best to get it... Sorry I could help with the shimmys Koi but ill keep my eye open... |

Re: Long Awaited Promise....
Scott i am open to other makes of reels, should you get any, ive just checked out the ones above, i think they will be ok for big cats and thats an excellent price, certainly seems a reel that offers value for money at those prices.
They are not for me though, but please keep me informed of any developments. |

Re: Long Awaited Promise....
Just a question. If you are targeting 100lb cats surely you should using really strong rods and reels. A Shimmy 8010 would not cope with catching 100lb plus cats even in still water conditions.
You need big pit reels with low gearing to enable you to winch line in and have a large capacity spool to cope with high breaking strain line you will need. All of the large cats I have seen hookrd using normal carping gear the anglers have had no chance to stop the cat and these are only 50-60Lb max. |
