Rod Guidance please

Hi All,

Trying to get some kit together on a Very tight budget and have come across some rods for sale. Would just like peoples opinion and some guidance. I have just started Carp fishing and have been using an old rod that was given to me - have no idea what make or TC - feels like a scaffolding pole!

I will not be spending huge amounts of time on the water but at the same time do not want to end up wasting money on rubbish.

The rods I have come across are Maver Abyss 2.75TC and are 12ft length. Guy wants approx 30 pounds each for the rods.

Any comments or help much appreciated - Wade

Re: Rod Guidance please

Thanks Guys,

I do like the Daiwa tackle, but might go and look at the Outkasts - lots of people talk about them. The warranty looks good as well. It will be early next year before any new purchases now, but I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers - Wade

Re: Rod Guidance please

Hi All,

Have not yet made it to the tackle shop yet to have a look/feel, but came across the Fox Warrior Z 2.75TC rods. Any comments would be most appreciated. Seem to be priced reasonably at 45 pounds.

Guys, what do you think to TC's, can not afford different rods and have been trying to find out as much as I can. Would much rather take advice from the Forum than the Tackle shop.

Cheers in advance - Wade

p.s. Merry Christmas to All

Re: Rod Guidance please

if i had to buy a rod for the 60-70 quid mark it would be the warriors.

i had a set for fishing some of the local parks around me a few years ago and they were brilliant.

as for t/c....unless your fishing at longer ranges the 2.75 will more than up to any task you ask of them.

fox warriors are the best budget rod imho, the euro warriors are very nice looking too.

i think gemo is selling some xt2's in the classified section at the bottom of the forum, drop him a pm, might get yourself a bargin.
