Re: kwik change or putty?

I must admit, i prefer putty however in the worst of winter i tend to use a split shot as i find some puttys can become reall brittle and fall off. However, the flexibility of putty is good as you can add/remove as neccessary. I did try the Solar Depth Charges but found them awkward to fit and resulted in several hooks stuck in my fingers

ouch! to hooks in fingers,so putty is probably best but the split shot can cause weak spots can't it? or is this a myth?

Re: kwik change or putty?

Its true, split-shot can cause a weak spot but this is normally down to them being squashed on too tightly, there is another option, have a slightly longer hair and put the split-shot on the hair behind the boilie, thats what i tend to do a lot more now

Re: kwik change or putty?

its not a bad way to do it, especially if you have concern over the shot causing damage to your hooklink

Re: kwik change or putty?

kordas sinkers are brilliant, they are made of tungsten and weigh a pop up down just right, they never come off as you slide them onto the hooklink! better than putty or split shot imo

i rate them highly

Re: kwik change or putty?

They are a bit of a variant of Solar Depth-Charges. Thing is i'd expect the sinkers are a bit easier to attach
