Any one competed in a casting tournament?

We are thinking of running such an event here in North East Wales at Gweryd Lakes. I need to research how they are run if they are already and what sort of classes or catorgories we could break it into. We are keen to promote skill development in this area and have a great hill field to run such an event. Any experience, any links would be cool.

i use to cast for the uksf surf casting club thats sea rods.well it was all for one and one for all lol, but in that game the bigger you are the further you will cast, so to be honest mate if you are going to start a casting club do it catogrees of build and weight of each person so they all stand a chance of winnining something in there own class, it will save you all the greef that will come latter if you dont do so, hope this helps mate.
