new to carp fishing

well what is a carp rig all i know is line float hook and bait lol, whats all this rig business and whats the best for summer and winter.?

I tend to scale everything down in winter

If you read the winter bait artical that can be quite helpful to give you a insight

Knotless knott is a simple yet deadly effective rig

I'm sure if you google it then you will find how to tie one up

Combi rig is also very effective

Use a coated braid and strip about a inch off by the hook to give it a nice hinge

Hook wise use something which will turn well into the fishes mouth... curved hooks such as Gardner Muggas are very good, you won't got far wrong

your best bet is to read some of the toutorials on the site. They explain most of the basics that you need to know then ask questions from there. Also have a look through the forums cause most of the Q. have probably been asked already so you will get your ans much quicker.
