Your opinion, good buy or bin it buy

Id like your opinion of anthing carpy, tackle clothing etc, was the item a good buy or a bin it buy.

I have a real issue with carp gear as imo its way over priced and the advertising for some of this stuff imo is complete and utter rollocks, when they say tried and tested by real anglers im wondreing how many times its actually tested.

These are of course only our opinions

Good buy

Nash wide boy bedchair, i love my wide boy or as i call it my fat boy, very robust, extremley comfortable, has been in constant use for over a year now, and is as comfortable now as the day i got it. nice touches like a key money holder on the side and a moby pouch on the bed itself, the detachable fleece lining comes off to be washed, and you will need to detach it in the summer or you will roast alive.I dont like the leg clips that hold the legs when you adjust the hight, they are plastic and i can see breakages in this occuring over time, saying that i know no one who has had one break yet. The bed is on the heavy side, but if you are a session angler its worth the hassel, i sleep better in my fat boy than i do in my own bed.
Price as with althings carpy i think expensive, but that said it has been a very good peice of kit that i would reccomend to anyone, it certainly hasnt let me down yet.

Bin it buy

Tracker waterproof top, not mine, but my fishing buddys, been in use for around 8 months, reasonably priced at around £40, maybe a faulty one? id send it back if it were mine, as its definatly not waterproof

Good buy

Greys prodigy 3lb tc rods and marker rod.

Been very pleased with these, for what i use them for, in a years fishing they have been superb, especially as i only bought them on an impulse buy as they were less than half price new.At the full price i wouldnt even have considered them if im honest, i have yet to find a fault.

Bin it buy

Nash hight top Proffesional bivy

Nash high top proffesional bivy, bought 2nd hand only been used twice, and didnt look like it had been used at all. Nice size, but i have a bit of trouble getting the poles apart once erected, prob my naff hand, dont like the inner skin which hangs down too much imo and annoys the hell out of me, so took it out(turn it upside down as its connected to the ground sheet) and of course we had condensation probs, but the bivvy imediatly became more comfortable for me anyway. After a years solid use one of the main pram hood arms came adrift of its holder, and when you think these retail at around £270 for me its a buckett of shit.I know kevin nash would fix it for me and prob free of charge, but its the inconvienence, at that price i dont expect any hassel. To finnish on a high it fits easily into its bag, not like the old days eh mr nash

good buy...chub lo-lite chair, i bought mine as a small bivvy/guest chair but its so comfy i use it all the time now, i even sold off a more expensive padded recliner because this cracking little chair made it redundant

bin it....fox catapults, guaranteed to break with very little use!

Bin it Buy

Wychwood Excorsist 75 big pit reels

ok i got these brand spanking new for a knockdown price of £42 each on e bay a fellas bird bought them for him as a suprise, and he had already bought some new reels without telling her lol.

Ive used them hard for one season, first impressions were very favourable, smooth to use, landed some big lumps on them with no probs, though they are a bit on the heavy side. Then recentley ive had the handle knobs fall off on me, one of the handles on the reel seems to come undone all the time, nitemare when playing fish(maybe an extra washer would sort it) then the lever under the reel that makes it backwind or not, snapped off when clicked into action(2 reels). The lever seems very brittle to me.
Considering these retail at around £75 i would be very cheesed off if id paid that, i guess if you dont fish that often they would see you through a few years, but for me one seasons use and to all intents and purposes they are knackered.
As usual when they say tried and tested, its my belief they are not tested over the time they should be considering the price some of these companys want.

Bin it buy, wouldnt piss on it if it was on fire.

Fox Halo lite, love the fact it has a remote to turn it on, like the fact it can be zeroed in to go off with your delks.

But at the end of the day its a light, or in this case not, absolute shite
