Cemex Yateley Sandhurst lake

Just got back from a 36 hour coaching session at Cemex Yateley Sandhurst lake. The fish were spawning the day prior to our visit but the day we started the temperature dropped and the cooling wind swung around and blew into our side of the lake. My client Darren and I fished pegs 10 & 11 on the road bank.

AS we wet up the carp started to show in front of us our confidnce levels were very high. Using the marker float we quickly found a sweet little spot about 45 yards out and started to spod out some pidgion conditioner and fished simple lead clip inline running rigs with a single plastic maize mounted claw rig style on a size 8 hook.
With the rigs out in the lake and supper made and eaten all that was left to do was to get into bed. At 3.00 am one of the alarms screamed off.

As Darren picked up the rod it became apparent this was a big fish. After what seemeda life time and with very very sore arms darren finally guided the big carp into the net. With our head torches lighting up the water we peired into the landing net at a huge carp easily the biggest I have ever had in the net before. I told darren I thought it could go about 40lb which left him stunned.
The sacels told the story for us a crracking carp called Nigels fish was on the bank weighing in at 36b11oz

With the carp safley back in the lake darren went back to bed leaving me to watch the sun come up across the steam covered lake. As i watched the fizzing bubbles of feeding carp and tench popping up across the lake the alarm next to me burst into life frightening the life out of me.

I picked up the rod and called Darren to get up again as he had another lump on, He was very slow to respond thinking I was mucking about but eventually came running to start battle with another heavy fish.
Ten minuite later another carp was on the mat a common this time not as big but still a great fish at 26lb 05oz

All to soon the coaching event was over darren had had is old PB smashed by over 15 Lb and to say he was happy was an understatement, we said our good byes and darren left for home leaving me to pack up. As I was loading the tackle onto y trolley an old client Paul came along and set up in the swim I was leaving watching him tackle the swim and setting up I realised he had forgotten loads that I had taught him and ended up staying with him for the rest of the morning.

I eventually pulled of after building Paul a few new rigs more suited to the venue and showing him where to cast to.

As iIdrove home Paul called me on his mobile he was in tears as he had caught a 39lb 14oz mirror from my swim with my rigs what a result. I have definatly got the best job in the world.

Re: Cemex Yateley Sandhurst lake

Is this a day ticket water or does it come under one of those bronze/silver permits you can get? Sorry to hijack this, I'm looking for decent waters in the hants/berks/surrey area, especially if they are cheap and offer an annual permit etc.

Cheers.

Re: Cemex Yateley Sandhurst lake

I thought I read something about having to be a cemex angling plus member or something to be able to buy a day ticket? Like it was only open to an elite? The website is actually a bit confusing with all the different types of tickets and closely named waters...

Hi mate yes you are right it is confusing to say the least. You need to join cemex plus £35.00 which is a one off charge then buy your day tickets as normal
