Recommendation Needed for Day Ticket Waters in Essex

Hi Fellers,
I am visiting the Rochford, Essex area soon for about a week.
Anybody know of a day ticket water in the area where there is
a chance of me catching a 20lb plus carp?

Oak Lodge would be worth a go possibly, however its far from an easy water and quite pricey. Jimmy's lake might also be worth a look but its a bit of a travel to get there from Rochford.

Soon as I find the link to Jimmy's I'll post it up, Carpcruncher might also have a few recommendations as he's in the same area as me.

cant recommend this one mayself, its 40 quid for 24hr session and itd generally full to the brim with anglers fishing 4 rods each, and there is the dodgey stockings that go on there. would fish it if he paid me £40 a day.

there is also a lake owned by the same geezer called doggets thats actually in rochford that has a good head of 20's but its rammed at the weekend.

might not be your cup of tea but also an option.

I spoke to this lakes owner at the weekend and it sound really good give him a call and see if it fits the bill. Churchgate Lakes

A bit on the expensive side so will give this one a miss.


i can get you all on hadleigh res for as long as you like, £5 per day, be a good chance for a few of us to get together and have a beer and maybe a fish or two.
This sounds quite good and it would be good to fish with guys who know what they are doing. Good for me to pick up some useful knowledge.

It could be just right and until I fish it I will not know.
I leave Spain early tomorrow morning by car and don't arrive in Rochford until Friday 9th, which is my wifes birthday. Busy weekend!!!!!!!
I can fish either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday if we meet up. Will try and access the forum on route but depends on wifi availability.

Hi Gemo,
Had a day at Churchgate Lakes last week.
Not good fishing at the moment due to the weather change.
Very smart fishery though, clean and tidy, and will definately
go back when I return next year.
