I thought it might be a good idea to post a little more info regarding BDAC (billericay district angling club), especially as i have my rule book handy with the venue info in it.
The club has a selection of 19 different venues all around Essex, and here are the locations with a little info on each.
Southminster Fisheries
This is the clubs first venue I think, comprises of 8 pits, several of which contain a good head of carp (night fishing allowed). Has a toilet block with flush toilets and a washbasin.
Asheldam Fisheries
Again a good head of carp up to 15lb including some wildies.2 Rods and Nightfishing allowed. Flush toilets
Straits Mill, Braintree
Carp to over 20lb tench to over 6 and pike to 20's. No nightfishing (6am -10pm only). Flush toilets
Jackletts farm, Bicknacre
Good head of carp, night fishing allowed
Shalford Reservoirs
Was stocked with carp in the late 70's so expect a few good'uns, no noghtfishing 6am to sunset only
Armigers, Thaxtead
Very good head of smaller carp with a fair amount of doubles. 6am-10pm only, portaloo's
Kings Court Reservior, Writle
Night fishing allowed, no mention as to the carp (havnt tried this lake yet)
Little Easton Fisheries, Rectory Ponds
Situated in the middle of a park, very good head of small carp and plenty of doubles, one rod only and bread is the best choice of bait over here as its been introduced as a natural food source by people feeding the ducks. Study rules carefully as this venue has plenty, one rod only, no groundbaiting etc etc etc. Flush loo's provided.
Barleylands Farm
In my honest opinion it's not much more than a large hole in the ground, there's plenty of good size fish with 20's making an appearance (not to me though

). Portaloo and night fishing allowed.
Parsonage Farm reservior, High easter
Havnt fished this yet but there is no mention of any carp, 6am-10pm only, no nightfishing
Windmill lakes, Mountnessing
Good head of carp with 20's apparently making an appearance but low doubles seem more common. 6am-10pm only and one rod only.
This little list is just to give an insight (will add some pics when i get the chance) and the list of rules is not exhaustive, there are loads so DO CHECK your rule book before fishing them. The membership fee for all this lot plus some river stretches is around the £55/PA mark including the £10 joining fee which means it drops to around £45 P/A after the first year, associate members (i.e. wife/girlfriend (or hubby, boyfriend if you happen to be female) is an extra £10 per year, juniors can be added on but cant remember the price.
Note, the details above were only my interpretation and correct at time of writing so check rule books and consult the BDAC website for more info
