Hello, I've been looking for a forum to join and stumbled across this one when looking up zig rigs on the Internet. I found a post by Gemo explaining how to tie one up - he was the person that told me about them in the first place during my visit to Raisons the other day - how weird. Another weird thing is after doing some reading up on the Internet, I saw a few of Ian Gemson's adverts for Smart Carping and then 15 minutes later I bumped into him in Raisons. Anyway enough of the weirdness.
I started fishing when I was small and have done it on and off over the years. In a couple of weeks I'm heading to Gold Valley Springlakes in Aldershot, after about 5 years out of the game. I always remember it to be quite easy to reel in carp all day long even though I'm no pro. I've bought some shiny new stuff to make fishing more comfortable and to replace some of the tat that's been gathering dust in the shed for years. I've been doing lots of reading up on rigs and am ready to raid the tackle shop next Sunday so I can try a few out. I purchased a copy of the Fox Guide to Modern Carp Fishing to help me get back into it. I've had a flip through and it should help get me kickstarted.
Hopefully this forum will provide a nice place to chat and ask questions. Possibly even make some new fishing friends. So hello to you all,
